Verification and AML
A. Why we verify
Membership is available only in jurisdictions where local law allows it, and we apply Canadian rules on age, identity and anti-money laundering. Verification confirms that each member is an adult, is genuinely the person named on the account and is using funds they lawfully own. It also shields your balance from fraud and helps avoid payout delays.
B. Identity and age checks
We verify your identity and location before you make a first deposit. At registration, you enter your full legal name, date of birth and home address. We check these details against reliable data sources, and in many cases no further documents are needed.
If we cannot match your details electronically, or if activity on your account makes it necessary, our team will ask for documents such as:
- a driver's licence, passport or provincial photo identity card that is in date and clearly readable
- a bank statement or utility bill in your name, dated recently, confirming your home address
- proof that the payment method you use is yours, for example a photo showing the front of your Visa card with the central digits covered, or a screenshot of your PayPal account displaying your name
Every deposit and withdrawal is handled in Canadian dollars (CAD), and payouts are sent only to payment methods registered in your name. Completing verification early helps us keep to our standard payout times: within 1 to 4 hours with most methods, and no more than 12 hours by bank wire.
C. When verification fails
If documents are absent, illegible or inconsistent with your account details, we will tell you what is required. Deposits, play and withdrawals may be paused until the issue is resolved. If we are unable to verify your identity or age, or we find false information, the account is closed under our General Terms, and winnings may be withheld where the law requires.
D. Ongoing monitoring
Checks continue after registration. We watch account activity for signs of possible fraud or money laundering, including deposits withdrawn after minimal play, repeated changes of payment method, or sums that do not match a player's established profile. Withdrawal limits are also in place: each Interac e-Transfer transaction is capped at C$4 000, and each bank transfer at C$25 000.
E. Source of funds
If deposits are larger, or your account activity changes noticeably, we may ask you to show the source of your funds. Typical documents include payslips, bank statements, proof of an inheritance or of a property sale. For substantial sums, we may also examine the origin of your wider wealth. Your play may be restricted until these checks are completed to our satisfaction.
F. Record keeping and reporting
Identity documents, transaction histories and the results of our checks are kept for as long as Canadian law requires. If we suspect money laundering or terrorist financing, the appropriate Canadian authorities are notified. The law prevents us from telling the player concerned that a report has been made. Our Personal Data Policy explains how these records are stored and protected.
G. Sanctions and politically exposed persons
We screen every member against international sanctions lists at account opening and again at regular intervals. We also check whether a member holds, or recently held, a senior public position, or is a close associate of such a person. These accounts are not turned away as a matter of course; instead they undergo enhanced checks and closer monitoring. Anyone subject to sanctions is refused.
